This position has the primary responsibility for coordinating delivery operations including routing, delivering and backhauling activities.

- Direct Delivery team members regarding personnel, policies, procedures and practices
- Responsible for standard operating procedures, safety, productivity, financial cost center management, and operating performance management
- Identify opportunities for improvement. Lead or supervise implementation of these opportunities
- Coordinate and collaborate with other managers and corporate personnel to ensure smooth operation to meet business requirements
- Sustain and improve service levels to customers
- Develop and enhance productive working relationships with executives, managers, and staff across the organization as well as customers and other stakeholders outside the company
- Hire, train, develop and manage Delivery team members
- Monitor and maintain driver qualification files and hours of service
- Establish and utilize performance-based means of managing vendor services
- Oversee and comply with federal, state and local regulatory laws, including those related to delivery fleet and DOT regulations
- Maintain and safeguard company assets (e.g. building, personal property, inventory, cash)
- Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with the sales, warehouse, delivery and customer service departments
- Relevant four-year degree preferred
- Strong operations leadership experience, including 7+ years of progressive operating responsibility, including leadership of warehouse operations and inventory operations
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a team
- Demonstrated success managing a union workforce
- Excellent professional communication skills
- Strong proficiency with warehouse software’s
- Strong Word and Excel experience required
- Ability to manage competing demands, frequent change, delays and unexpected events
- Ability to interact with all functional areas and organizational levels, often in stressful situations
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiation, influencing and analytical skills
