Transportation Engineer 5-Roadways

As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;

• Establish design criteria, develop horizontal and vertical alignments, perform superelevation design, etc.
• Preparation of design calculations for roadway-related design tasks.
• Production level proficiency with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Plan Development Guide and Design Wiki.
• Preparation of contract documents including construction plans and proposal packages including quantity tabulation sheets using Project Quantity Spreadsheet (PQS).
• Production-level experience in 3D modeling and plan development.
• Develop traffic control plans.
• Develop contract special provisions and cost estimates.
• Perform field work to document condition assessments and existing conditions.
• Implementation of corporate Quality Assurance Plan.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
• Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
• Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
• Supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
