Job Summary
The Transportation Driver is responsible for providing scheduled and special transportation to all residents in a safe, comfortable, and timely manner.

Reports to: Transportation Manager
Essential Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities
1. Responsible for transporting residents.
a. Drives small vans and medium size to large buses on city streets, highways, and in and out of parking lots and driveways.
b. Assists residents on and off buses.
c. Transports staff to and from work during winter storms or other staffing emergencies as required.
d. Picks up packages off campus as directed.
2. Maintains all vehicles in department.
a. Completes daily safety checks.
b. Ensures completion of checking all safety belts on vehicles, fueling of vehicles, proper tire inflation, and cleaning vehicles inside and out.
3. Interacts effectively within multi-disciplinary team.
a. Assists in scheduling of transportation.
b. Reports all accidents and incidents within 24 hours.
c. Assists in other departments as requested.
d. Assists in keeping the Transportation office neat and clean.
e. Demonstrates professionalism at all times with residents and fellow staff members.
4. Satisfies all educational in-service requirements that are mandated by the Department, the facility, and external accrediting and regulatory agencies.
a. Maintains a Safe Driving Record.
b. Maintains up-to-date CDL license.
c. Assists in all essential and non-essential duties of department.
d. Assists in filling positions in case of absences.
5. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and complies with policies and procedures of infection control, OSHA, safety, resident rights, and federal and state laws and regulations.
a. Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
b. Attends in-services and Employee Forums on a regular basis.
c. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of State Highway Regulations.
d. Participates in positive customer relations.
e. Remains professional in all areas of resident and family contact.
6. Satisfies all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
a. Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
b. Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
c. Completes yearly online education program by deadline.
d. Attends employee meetings on a regular basis.
In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Transportation Driver shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission and values (compassion, excellence, inclusion, integrity, collaboration) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Furthermore, every employee must abide by all campus, departmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
CHI Living Communities has the right to change the job specific duties and specifications required for the position of Transportation Driver from time to time without prior notice.
