TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR/DISPATCHER: Chicopee, MA
This is a night shift position 11:30 p.m. until 8 a.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Dispatching drivers
· Manage load assignments
· Coordinate workflow to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
· Support daily driver activities including safety, DOT compliance, and management of deliveries
· Assist with training of drivers. Provide feedback to drivers on performance and safety.
· Daily monitoring of fleet drivers for route performance and adherence to planned route
· Answering phones and emails
· Work with vendors for repair of equipment
· Communicating updates on delivery times.
· Conduct general warehouse/housekeeping duties.
Qualifications:
· Supervisory, transportation, and training skills
· Effective communication skills; excellent attention to detail and decision making skills
· Basic working knowledge of menu driven computer applications including MS Office
· Team oriented with good interpersonal skills; Can-do attitude, Get-it-done frame of mind
· Self-motivating and innovative – Think outside the box
· Knowledge of DOT regulations
· Comfortable working with customers as well as sales, accounting and other departments.
· Able to work in a warehouse terminal environment. Able to operate power industrial truck (jacks and/or forklifts).
· Commercial Driver’s License, CDL, preferred but Class D license required.
