Reports to the Training, Readiness & Communications Manager
Key Responsibilities:
o Coordinates with the Manager and key clients to develop and manage the training plan and Communications plan.
o Assists in maintaining the Microsoft project schedule (as it pertains to training, ocm, comms, readiness).
o Provides weekly status and updates the status report provided to the client.
o Identifies, manages, escalates, and resolves risks and issues related to training and communication, or other areas identified.
o Leads and manages support staff (which may include analysts, trainers, content developers, etc.
o Meets with client executives and leadership to present and discuss plans, work products, status, feedback, etc.
o Leads from a strategic perspective, but also gets into the details to help create materials.
· Training
o Leads development of the training strategy for future phases of the project.
o Coordinates with the development team to align training schedule to release plan.
o Coordinates with the development team to ensure training procedures and materials align to most updated software (including a QA of the materials)
o Participates in the requirements and design phases, as necessary, to gain an understanding of the system.
o Drives the development of training materials, including procedures and FAQs. Other trainers may be supporting and developing. Need the Lead to drive it, manage it, and be able to develop materials as well.
o Monitor training efforts to identify improvements to existing materials, strategies, etc.
· Communications/OCM/Readiness
o Leads development of the overall effort to determine organizational and process changes that result from the system implementation, as well as subsequent efforts to help the organization transition via communications, organizational change management, and readiness activities.
o Coordinates with the development and training team to align communications with releases and upcoming project activities.
o Participates in the requirements and design phases, as necessary, to gain an understanding of the system.
o Drives the development of communication/ocm materials. These are to be defined as part of the strategy, but should include as-is and to-be process diagrams and gaps. This also includes authoring communications as needed.
o Monitor communication progress and efforts to identify improvements or changes needed.
Key Qualifications:
· 5+ years’ experience leading large Training/OCM/Communications efforts on California government state IT implementations.
· 5+ years’ experience with a top consulting firm, or system integrator, working in a training/ocm capacity.
· Local to Sacramento – able to travel within California to conduct site visits, training sessions, etc.
· Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills.
· Recent experience developing training and communication materials (e.g., writing training scripts, taking screen shots for materials, authoring content, formatting of materials, etc.)
· Flexibility – ability to adapt to rapidly changing project schedule, system scope, etc.
