Position Description:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Training & Development Manager will be responsible for creating, administering, and delivering all aspects of training programs at WPA. This includes creating training programs, conduct training courses & identifying qualified instructors for trainings, developing all training materials and curriculum, managing an LMS (must have extensive LMS management experience), data analysis and reporting, maintaining a training calendar, all administration surrounding training, and compliance/ course tracking.
The position will also provide generalist and administrative support help to develop, communicate, and deliver projects, policies, and critical systems for staff to thrive and grow at WPA.
The Training & Development Manager will be engaging, organized, technically savvy, adaptable, and enjoy collaborating on the construction of a highly functioning training department. Must have strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential for this role.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Create job-specific immersions and departmental training- each with daily learning agendas to ensure new hires have a successful onboarding.
  • Design training programs, curriculum, guides, handouts, and course catalogues.
  • Facilitate training courses, which can include in-person training sessions, e-learning modules, workshops, and seminars, also coordinate with internal subject matter experts and external learning vendors.
  • Send invites, reminders, and track attendance.
  • Track and administer compliance for courses, and partner with managers for disciplinary action for continued non-compliance.
  • Manage the learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant platforms; create customized dashboards, custom fields, and reports.  
  • Manage content of LMS platforms, assist with the organization and maintenance of training content within the LMS, which includes course materials, recordings, mandatory risk management trainings, department-specific modules, e-learning modules, and webinars.
  • Partner with CHRO to develop, produce, and distribute HR communications, delivering clear and meaningful messages.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to create robust Job Descriptions.
  • Support IDP (individual development plans) delivery to help upskill current talent in current role or to prepare for future roles.
  • Assist with various recruitment activities, assisting CHRO and teams to attract and hire top-quality candidates who align with the organization's culture and meet WPA’s talent needs.
  • Partner with local schools with relevant programs to create talent pipelines and build internship programs.
  • Operationalize HR projects--organize, plan, communicate, and execute projects, while working within deadlines. 
    • Assist with daily Generalist functions, including responding to employee questions regarding human resources policies, identifying and resolving employee issues, and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Serve as back-up to all HR administrative processes and HRIS processing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in training and learning fields is helpful. 
  • At least 2-4 years of experience driving the Training function.
  • Must have strong organizational, administrative, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, must be engaging to connect with diverse audiences and administer adult learning principles.
  • Exceptional facilitation and training acumen.  
  • Substantial experience in learning and development, training, or related roles with a proven track record of designing and implementing effective training programs.
  • Expert in instructional design principles and the development of engaging and effective learning materials.
  • Must have PowerPoint experience.
  • Must be expert with HR systems must have significant learning management systems (LMS) and other e-learning technologies background.
  • Project management experience.
  • Understanding of recruitment strategies, talent acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Familiar with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other HR technologies.
  • Nonprofit experience a plus.

Position Details:
This is a full-time position. The Learning & Development Manager reports to the CHRO. Currently, work is performed remotely, but the ideal candidate should be prepared to spend time as needed onsite (subject to change). The ideal candidate will be able to provide their own transportation. Reimbursement for certain business travel is included.
Compensation:
Compensation for this role is $95,000- $110,000 commensurate with education and experience.
