SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II position is to provide technical and coordination skills in carrying out various research projects and coordinates procedures and performs technical laboratory duties in accordance with general and/or specific plans.

3. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, COMMUNICATION, LEARNING SKILLS

Communication with faculty and staff within and outside the laboratory.
Work with others in a highly collaborative manner.
Assist other lab members with ongoing experiments that have a priority designated by the Principal Investigator.
Instruct other technicians, students and staff members on scientific protocols currently used in the laboratory.
Willingness to proactively learn new techniques such as molecular biology techniques, epigenetics, and biochemical methods.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor’s degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred: Master’s degree with major course work in the one of the basic sciences and or medical field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: One-year experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience is required with preferred degree.
Preferred: Experience in basic rodent surgeries, biochemistry/molecular biology assays, and neuroscience.
