Job Description
SUMMARY: While delivering innovative solutions, exceptional service and trusted results, the Training and Development Coordinator provides career development and job skills training to job seekers and program participants and responds to internal staff training and business customer needs including designing, developing curriculum, presenting materials, promoting, and publicizing training classes and workshops, and related training functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct instruction of training classes and workshops, including career counseling, career development models, and job seeking skills.
- Work closely with management to continuously improve the effectiveness of the training projects and Workforce Readiness Training curriculum, including gathering technical information, conducting needs assessments, and assisting other team members to improve training content and delivery.
- Identify new technology-based learning resources for consideration by client and may facilitate special classes or workshops for customers; assist with customer paperwork and customer assignments.
- Provide training and best practices on using social media and websites. Oversee weekly and monthly website additions and update KRA today for Chicago area.
- Create and intensely manage innovative social media footprint for the benefit of the employers, job seekers and staff.
- Provide customer training through various workshops, located on and offsite during or after normal working hours.
- Facilitates training classes and workshops on a wide variety of topics requested and required by department.
- Research best practices and existing curriculum to design the best product possible, Research new curriculum and incorporate into service delivery.
- Design and develop curriculum; prepare training materials; set and coordinate schedules; maintain records; write reports; and evaluate workshops and training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. The degree requirement may be substituted for eight (8) years of professional work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience combining elements of training, counseling and/or case management.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 50% local travel.
