Job description

We are looking for an individual to join the IT team to deliver training to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs and hardware efficiently and effectively in support of business objectives. This individual is responsible for designing, delivering, and improving in-house applications training programs and related courseware. Providing general technical support to users is part of the daily task.
This is an in-office role and requires reporting to our HQ in Baltimore daily.
A Day in the Life:

    • Create and implement training programs that address Alertus' technology education needs, as determined by expressed user needs, management requests, or other strategic goals, and Help Desk problem patterns.
    • Develop and maintain training strategies and curricula for each software program used by Alertus employees.
    • Design programs to assess users' computer skills and to measure their participation in and growth through the Alertus training programs.
    • Create new employee orientation and continuing education programs tailored to job function (for example, sales, implementations, technical support, engineering, and marketing).
    • Maintain the computer classroom to provide a comfortable and professional learning environment for trainees.
    • Coordinate and schedule software training classes on a regular and routine basis.
    • Develop and maintain reference guides and software documentation for use by Alertus personnel.
    • Establish company-wide standards for document creation, editing, and comparison which are in accordance with best practices.
    • Continuously update one's own technical knowledge and software skill sets. Learning new software as required by Alertus.
    • Maintain the flexible workspaces throughout the Alertus Headquarters, including conference rooms and flex offices.
    • Assist the Information Technology Department in troubleshooting and resolving user technical problems; acting as part of the team and performing tasks of the User Support Specialist as needed.
    • Support the Information Technology Department in planning and carrying out technology projects, including planning, implementing, and preparing for "rollout" related training.
    • Evaluate and review training classes offered by 3rd party training organizations that may be needed to augment or replace training programs offered within the company. Project managing these training programs when required to do so.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
    • Experience with staff development and/or human resources management.
    • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications.
    • Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques.
    • Experience with creating and maintaining course and participant databases.
    • Solid understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications and Google Workspace Applications.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including instructional and presentation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on motivational skills and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to conduct research into course development and delivery concepts, as well as technical software issues.
    • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and User-friendly language.
    • Highly self-motivated and directed.
    • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Very strong customer service orientation.
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Desired Skills:
    • Certifications (ex: A+ and/or MCDST)
    • Experience using Salesforce, 3CX, Zoom, Adobe Creative Suite
    • Training and/or teaching experience
    • IT Help Desk experience

Education and Experience:
    • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in training or User Support
