Description:
Under limited supervision the Training Specialist I will organize, design, develop, facilitate, and deliver training programs for employees, administrators, and faculty. Success in this role requires knowledge of adult learning theory and skill in developing training through various modalities including eLearning, blended learning, and asynchronous and synchronous instructor-led facilitated learning. Demonstrated through excellent written and verbal communication skills this individual will lead both classroom and virtual learning and facilitate learning through the development of toolkits, best practice guides, forms, and job aids for a wide range of soft skills and Human Resources process and procedure topics.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
1. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling four years (48 months), from the categories below:
A. credit for college training leading to a major or concentration in education or other fields related to Training and Development such as human resource administration or business administration or closely related fields
- 30 semester hours equals 12 months
- 60 semester hours equals 24 months
- 90 semester hours equals 36 months
- 120 semester hours or a Bachelor's Degree equals 48 months
- Bachelor's Degree equals 3 years (36 months)
- Master's Degree equals 4 years (48 months)
2. Two years of professional work experience in the Training and Development profession 1
1 A Master's degree in education or other fields closely related to Training and Development (such as human resource administration or business administration) or a Master's degree with a concentration in these fields may be substituted for one year of such experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Knowledge of adult learning theory
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
- Proficient in online authoring tools i.e Adobe Captivate
- Proficient in project management skills
- Ability to design and implement training solutions
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
