Talent Consultant Group is partnered with a Jacksonville client that is looking to add an experienced Traffic Engineering Intern to their Jacksonville team.
This individual will assist numerous traffic and transportation planning activities. This position will coordinate with multiple other disciplines including site engineering, roadway design, land use planning and survey to name a few. Current and past projects include Nocatee, Bartram Park, Town Center, Silverleaf, East Nassau Community Planning Area and other major notable projects within the Northeast Florida region.
Responsibilities:
- Traffic impact analysis, traffic signal warrant analysis, crash analysis
- Intersection control evaluations
- Conceptual design
- Travel demand modeling, design traffic
- Traffic forecasting
- Proportionate fair share calculations
- Mobility fee estimations
- Site access studies and internal circulation studies
Qualifications:
- Engineer Intern Certification
- A background in transportation planning, transportation engineering, and/or Traffic Engineering a plus
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, or ArcGIS a plus
- Knowledge of the use of traffic analysis tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, CORSIM, Sidra and HCS a plus
- Basic understanding of FDOT green book, roadway design standards, Florida Design Manual, Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Manual of Uniform Traffic Studies, Manual of Intersection Control Evaluation, and Institute of Transportation Engineers Trip Generation Manual and Handbook a plus
- Ability to work well in groups as well as independently
- Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
