Job Description:
- This is an independent P&L owner role overseeing entire process including sales, bid, planning & scheduling, design, crew selection and allocation, material procurement, project oversight, customer management, billing and crew payments, issue resolution and quality
- Run business line independently end-to-end including people, customers, P&L, growth
- If Commercial:
- Utilizes industry expertise and connections to get invited and put competitive bids on contracts for targeted trade
- Build on relationships with and Close Deals with key GCs/ developers/ commercial clients, and create solid pipeline
- If Residential:
- Utilizes industry expertise to target right products in the right neighborhoods/ communities at the right price, and suggest best marketing channels
- Delivers highest quality of work and customer satisfaction
- Source right reliable crews and material / equipment for jobs
- Recruit a strong dedicated team as business develops across sales, project management, estimating, expediting, etc.
- Hands-on oversee all aspects of delivery to ensure highest quality product to customer, and all issues are dealt with promptly
- Achieve target profitability by using your expertise to manage customer expectations, right bidding, and optimal resource utilization
- Target opportunities with high potential across either or both commercial and residential
Requirements
- Strong background in a trade or area in construction - either commercial or residential, with a demonstrated experience and track record of 5-10 years as either a senior project manager, business owner, or in a similar type of role
- If Commercial, then strong network with GCs/ commercial clients and can bid & close deals (OR if residential, strong sales ability and community presence)
- Solid network of subcontractors, tradesmen and material/ equipment suppliers in that specialization
- Dynamic, independent, high energy, self-starter
- Adept at managing both sales and hands-on projects, alongwith big picture of business,
- Ideal candidate will have a drive to grow, develop and flourish in an environment where they are able to make critical decisions and take accountability for their actions
- Strong problem-solving abilities, highly organized, able to prioritize own workload effectively and able to work collaboratively with others
- Strong sense of independence and able to work independently
- Ability to manage own diary and time effectively to maximize productivity
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and blueprints
- Adept with providing outstanding customer service, marketing, and sales support
- Confident in managing, mentoring and training others, as the team grows
- Experience in project management, sales, estimating, expediting
- This position reports directly to the CEO, so you should be able to communicate with people at executive and board levels
