THE TODDLER | Filled with intellect and eloquence, she is a delightful blend of sweetness and curiosity. This three-year-old is in a Waldorf POD three to four days a week from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

She loves mindful nature activities, crafts, education, and developmentally appropriate stimulation.

THE INFANT | He is expected to make his arrival in early May.

THE JOB DETAILS | Care for the newborn in the mornings while the toddler is at school/ camp. Then take over the toddler after school while having the baby join you both in any activities when mom begins work again (August 15th)

Help the toddler with her afterschool routine by warming up dinner, making the next day’s lunch, bathing the toddler, getting into PJs, and preparing for school the next day.

Ability to multitask to help mom, baby, and toddler during this delicate postpartum period.

Much flexibility is required. Coordinating playdates for the toddler and, eventually, the infant.

Preparing a week’s worth of age-appropriate nature activities and crafts for the children. Going to the library, museums, beach, etc.

Being present and participating in private swim classes with the swim teacher and toddler Engaging in developmentally appropriate activities with both the baby and toddler.
Helping to pack for the baby and toddler for all travel.
Other tasks and responsibilities will be assigned as needed, and must remain open and flexible.

THE REQUIREMENTS | The candidate must have extensive professional nannying experience, including at least five years working as a professional nanny, Waldorf, or Montessori educator, and at least two years with a baby and a toddler. References confirming employment.

Ability to commit two to three years with the family.

Child development and nannying are your career and life passions.

Must be willing to travel with family as needed and relocate with them for the autumn (Aug to Nov) season at their farm in Mendocino. Housing provided. Otherwise, this is a live-out position when in LA. Knowledge of nanny travel and navigating airport/ plane activities with a toddler on travel.

Must live in the Los Angeles area and be willing to drive as needed (family located in Topanga). Must have a valid driver's license. Car provided for all child transport needs. Must have a reliable and insured vehicle to get to work.

Self or professionally trained in Waldorf, RIE, Montessori experience, and gentle parenting rearing. This is hugely important.

Must love pets - there are six dogs, two cats, donkeys, alpacas, chickens and bunnies.

Candidate must be willing to do light organizing, cooking, and tidying during downtime and at the end of the day to wrap up.

Must understand a healthy and holistic lifestyle. The family is extremely holistic—only using homeopathy, flower essences, organics, and herbs for the children. Knowledge of healthy, organic foods and holistic lifestyle.

Any post-partum doula experience is a huge plus.

Must be open to organizing, light evening tidying before going home, and gentle cooking/ warming up food for the family.

Must be flexible enough to switch between supportive tasks—supporting mom, caring for a newborn, caring for the toddler, and caring for the home.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE | Incredibly conscious nanny with a background in RIE, Waldorf lead, and emotionally attuned gentle parenting style. Passionate about making a positive impact on young children. Has the ability to travel with the family and stay at the family’s Mendocino farm from August to November. This is a requirement.

Has a strong command of English, both verbal and written. A second language is a huge perk but not a requirement.

The candidate respects professional and personal boundaries.

THE SCHEDULE | Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week guaranteed.

THE RATE | $30 to $45 per hour DOE. Guaranteed weekly hours. Paid leave. Health, vision, and dental.
