Role Summary
Eagle Bend Manufacturing is hiring an experienced Tooling Manager to direct and coordinate the activities of tool room employees, contractors, or vendors engaged in the production or processing of tools in the company’s facility.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibility
- Ensures adherence to safety protocols by all department employees at all times
- Ensures reliability of tools by working to reduce scrap and downtime due to tooling failures
- Have a robust preventative maintenance program that covers tooling and fixtures
- Involved in tool design changes to ensure reliability and customer satisfaction
- Participate in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process with engineering
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of tool makers, and apprentices in the tool room.
- Supervision of team members to include training and development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation, and written documentation of team member performance issues
- Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences, to meet production goals.
- Maintains operations data, such as time, production, cost records, develop and maintain TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions for tool room
- Manages tool room operations to maximize resources to achieve productivity and profitability.
- Assures that tool room is ready to pass system and process audits at any time
- Approves requisitions for materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
- Communicates clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
- Follow the principles of the Magna Employee Charter
- Promote and facilitate Open Door process without reprisal, effective communication and Fair Treatment
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Technical Education
- Four (4) year Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship
Qualification
- 6 years in the trade in addition to the 4-year apprenticeship
- 2-4 years supervisory experience
- Tool & Die Maker experience
- Project Management experience
- Prior automotive experience
- Ability to access tooling both in and out of machines
Additional Information
Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
