Job Title:Tool Crib Attendant

Department: Manufacturing Engineer

Reports To: Supervisor of Department

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Status: Split Shift

Schedule: 4x10 (10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.) Must be willing to work OT on Fridays

Location: Pueblo, CO

Remote: On-site

Pay Range: $18.00-$20.00 Hourly.

Job Summary

Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, cutting tools, dies, materials, and equipment in industrial establishments by performing the following duties and responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inventory including ordering all necessary supplies.
  • Must be able to communicate with vendors to obtain technical data to ensure the availability of all necessary tools. Accurately document this data for use when ordering through the purchasing department.
  • Break down, inspect, and inventory tools and fixtures being returned to the Tool Crib.
  • Maintain a balanced approach toward customer satisfaction and budget restraints.
  • Support interdepartmental working relationships, maintaining a professional work environment.
  • Inform supervisors of orders affecting their budgets and submit for approval as necessary.
  • Track orders in JD Edwards and Excel.
  • Work with the shop leads to complete timely set up of tools and fixturing for pending work orders based on a written job queue.
  • Sharpen drill bits and other basic tooling as required.
  • Manage the outsourcing of tool sharpening.
  • Responsible for keeping the daily Tool Crib spend at or below budget.
  • Support achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Support continuous process and quality improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Qualifications

  • One year of Experience that crosses into several of the following vocations: tool setting, machining, warehousing, inventory management, procurement, and/or purchasing.
  • Basic acknowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • One year of Experience in machine shop manufacturing including an understanding of a wide variety of machine tools, cutters, and processes is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a high degree of professionalism and customer satisfaction-oriented attitude and commitment.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team, self-motivated.
  • Capacity to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience driving a forklift.
  • Ability to use hand tools for setting, tightening, and adjusting tools and fixturing.
  • JD Edwards system experience (Preferable, not required)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
