- Work as a part-time or full-time teacher (30-40 hours a week) as part of a high-expectations, high-achievement performance culture that integrates best practice from New York City, New York State and The Learning Experience.
- Encourage positive participation of students using enrichment and play-based activities to develop all aspects of their mental, physical, and social beings.
- Co-teach alongside staff members to develop and execute creatively on lesson plans focusing on diversity, social, and emotional learning, along with enrichment, curriculum themes, indoor and outdoor play, combining the arts and hands-on experiences with supportive guidance from management.
- Attend staff meetings and on-going training opportunities.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for students
- Perform all duties related to childcare, including, potty training, diapering, feeding, cleaning, and nurturing.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Maintain all required credentials necessary for the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management as per program needs.

- Physical including immunizations and letter of good health from doctor, within last 12 months
- State-Mandated Trainings: Mandated Reporter Training, Preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Promoting Safe Sleeping Training, Prevention and Identification of Brain Injuries, including Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) Training, Foundations in Health and Safety Training, Infectious Control and Reporting Diseases Training
- New York State Teacher's Certification (Birth - 2nd or elementary), if applicable
- 1-3 years experience as a teacher for children under six years old
- Familiarity with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Article 47 regulations
- Associate's (AA or AS) degree in early childhood education; or
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and a study plan leading to an Associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years; or
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); nine college credits in early childhood education or child development; two years experience caring for children, and a study plan leading to an Associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years; or
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and five years of supervised experience in an infant/toddler classroom if currently employed in a permitted childcare program; or
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); and a study plan that is acceptable to the Department leading to nine credits in early childhood education or childhood development within two years; and a study plan leading to an Associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years, if currently employed in a permitted child care program.
