WordPlay, an innovative educational reading and play center in Livingston, is seeking a passionate and creative Class Instructor to join our team. As an instructor, you will be responsible for designing and conducting engaging sensory play classes aimed at fostering children's sensory exploration and development. Your role will involve creating a stimulating and safe environment where children can actively engage their senses while having fun and learning through play.
Our classes run regularly through the week in mornings and early afternoons.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and Implementing Sensory Play Curriculum: Design and implement developmentally appropriate sensory play activities that cater to the needs and interests of children within the designated age range. Ensure that the curriculum promotes exploration, creativity, and sensory stimulation.
- Conducting Sensory Play Classes: Lead sensory play classes for children, ensuring a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Encourage active participation and provide guidance to children as they explore various sensory materials and experiences.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensure the play area is clean, organized, and safe for children at all times. Regularly inspect and sanitize sensory materials and equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
- Engaging and Interacting with Children: Foster positive interactions with each child, offering individualized attention and guidance during play. Encourage socialization, communication, and emotional development through play-based activities.
The ideal candidate has experience with:
- Prior experience working with children in a classroom, daycare, or recreational setting is advantageous.
- Passion for Early Childhood Development: Demonstrate a genuine love for working with young children and a strong interest in sensory play as a tool for child development.
- Creativity and Adaptability: Possess a creative mindset and the ability to adapt activities to suit individual children's needs and group dynamics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
