Toddler And Preschool Teacher

Lead Teacher description:

Accountable to: Assistant Director, Director
Works with: Children 33 Months to the start of Kindergarten
Hours: 35-40 hours/week, 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Wage: $15-$17

Primary Function:
Lead Teacher responsible for implementing a program to meet children's emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs in line with Little Stars' policies and MN DHS - Rule 3 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment; plan daily programs.
- Prepare and supervise activities, encouraging group participation.
- Assist with general housekeeping; participate in staff development.
- Communicate professionally with staff, children, and parents; observe and report significant behaviors.
- Show initiative in improving Early Childhood Education and curriculum; take over Teacher responsibilities when needed.

Room Responsibilities:
- Create a warm, nurturing, and educational environment.
- Prepare lesson plans; direct activities and lessons; maintain professionalism.
- Delegate classroom duties; maintain cleaning schedules; rotate toys and materials.
- Lead Circle Time; write newsletters; conduct Parent/Teacher conferences; organize the room to be inviting.

Skills:
- Positive attitude; supervisory skills; sensitivity and effective communication.
- Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years; provide a loving environment to foster growth, self-confidence, and esteem.
- Model appropriate behaviors and attitudes for staff and children.

Job Qualifications:
Education: Comply with Teacher qualifications as per MN DHS - Rule 3.
Certification:
- CPR and First Aid
- SIDS/SBS (and video)
Continuing Education: As required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
