- Creates new training material and updates the Tobacco Diversion Program curriculum;
- Develops workshop presentations, handouts, and promotional materials;
- Develops partnerships with community stakeholders, including the Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach Police Department;
- Acts as the liaison between various stakeholders and partner agencies;
- Conducts outreach to recruit DIVERSION PROGRAM participants in partnership with the Long Beach Unified School District, the Long Beach Police Department, and community partners;
- Conducts program workshop presentations for youth participants and community partners;
- Provides programmatic support to families to assist with navigation of diversion protocols;
- Develops and conducts program evaluations, such as pre/post tests and satisfaction surveys;
- Monitors and evaluates program performance to ensure grant directives are met;
- Prepares progress reports, budget revisions, agreement amendments, and audit documents; and,
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Science, Community Health, Public Health, Education, Social Work, Public Policy, or a closely related field. (Proof of education required).
- Professional experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- One (1) year full-time equivalent experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position.
- A Master's Degree in Health Science, Community Health, Public Health, Education, Social Work, Public Policy, or closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required professional experience. (Proof of education required).
- Valid motor vehicle operator license.
- Required to obtain a California motor vehicle operator license within 6 months if out of state. DMV K4 driver license information report printout required during onboarding for California residents.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and evenings.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience working on tobacco education campaigns.
- Working knowledge of community health and public health topics, including youth development and health education best practices.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Khmer, and/or Tagalog).
