The Tissue Culture Lab Assistant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of micropropagation at our cultivation facility. This includes media preparation, initiating cultures, maintaining the mother plants, transfers and multiplication, rooting, record keeping and equipment maintenance. This role will report into the Tissue Culture Lab Manager and work from our Pinconning, Michigan facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily contributions:

• Partner with Lab Manager to build and optimize SOP from current workflow developing best-in-class process.
• Responsible for the coordination of procurement, multiplication, and movement of R&D plant material.
• Ensures traceability of Tissue Culture R&D processes through proper documentation practices as prescribed by Metrc and the company.
• Track Tissue Culture inventory management.
• Follow direction of Lab Manager to ensure priorities are aligned and expectations are met.
• Facilitate continual research and new developments in Tissue Culture, micropropagation, and genetics to improve lab procedures and productivity.
• Coordinate with external lab testing.
• Work with consultants and outside academic sources.
• Attend weekly meetings, track performance KPIs, and provide weekly report to Lab Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1 – 2 years Laboratory experience.
• Ability to think critically and independently.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Willingness to learn and seek out new methodologies and knowledge sources.
• Must be able to frequently move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk and work continuously for six to eight hours a day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
