JOB TITLE:                             Therapist

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:         Full-time, 40 hours/week 

SCHEDULED HOURS:          Monday-Friday, 2 evenings; as needed

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Substance Screening Treatment Recovery for Youth (SSTRY)

Provides outpatient substance abuse treatment by focusing on the rewards of staying substance-free, and teaching teens new ways of handling life's problems.  The first 3 months of the program include 10 individual sessions as well as parent & family sessions.  Follow up in the community for an additional 3 months helps to reinforce skills.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of clinical treatment for assigned clients with substance use disorders and/or major mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders.
  • Provides individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Maintains contact with and consults with relevant collaborative parties.
  • Participates as a full member of the clinical team and the program and is responsible for maintaining client records.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides assessment and treatment interventions consistent with fidelity to evidence based model, SSTRY.
  • Completes SSTRY certification in the allotted timeframe as worked out with SPD and clinical supervisor.
  • May assist in COP clinics as needed when caseload allows.
  • Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes
  • Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
  • Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural supports.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers
  • Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
  •  Responsible for Maintaining Client and Staff Records According to Agency Policy.
  • Participates in weekly supervision and meetings to review client and program progress.
  • Develops and provides therapeutic group therapy, individual, and family therapy.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s Degree in mental health field

Experience: Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist working with people with mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders. Demonstrated training and experience in all aspects of mental health treatment, assessment, evaluation and provision of individual, group and family therapy. Relevant experience to program model to which individual is assigned.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed as Clinical Psychologist in State of CT. preferred, or may be license eligible.

COMPENSATION*:        

$54,996/annually min.-$82,494/annually max., dependent upon experience.

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
