Theatre General Manager

Job Title: Theatre General Manager

Job Type: Contractual

Compensation: Until May, the compensation will be a percentage of revenue generated from ticket sales, grants, and other sources. Starting in May, the position will transition to a contract job with a fixed amount (X) paid for each production goal or show.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the theatre’s operations, including production, marketing, and finance.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve production goals.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth execution of shows.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including artists, sponsors, and the community.
• Oversee ticket sales strategies to maximize revenue.
• Apply for grants and identify other revenue opportunities.
• Prepare and manage budgets for each show.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the theatre industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of financial and budgeting processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Passion for the arts and a deep understanding of theatre production.

There is a need for at least two years of experience with shows with budgets of $1M or more.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $1,061.56 per week

Expected hours: 3 – 30 per week
