This position aims to conduct tests and inspect HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure the unit operates correctly before shipping.

- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Read & understand the paperwork and ensure correct parts are installed on units.
- Complete a quality check of our equipment, ensuring the unit is operating correctly.
- Ensure the electrical system is running efficiently.
- Ensure all piping is run correctly and all valves and controls are correctly installed.
- Test compressor and fans to ensure correct rotation and amperage.
- Ensure that the unit's sheet metal is free of damage.
- Make copies of blueprints from electrical and unit drawings to insert on IOM's.
- Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed.
- Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
- Charge time accurately in time & attendance system on the computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll.
- Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.
- Attend work as required.
- Arrive for work on time.
- Follow manufacturing instructions, work independently without constant supervision, be self-motivated, and complete job assignments on time.
- Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working correctly.
- Clean work area as required.
Education & Experience: Associates degree (two-year college or technical school.)
Skills: Effective communications skills, good listening skills, ability to read and comprehend drawings and written instructions, basic mathematical and computer skills, monitoring/assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action, good people skills to work in teams with others in the organization. Must know about refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Mechanical aptitude is a must.
Certificates, Licenses, or training: Valid Driver's License,on-site training
Interaction with othersAnswers to the Testing Supervisor. Must be able to accurately receive, understand and follow instructions from supervisor/lead. The employee must be able to work with all employees of the RAE team and show a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization. To accomplish this teamwork, the employee must get along well with coworkers and be willing to ask and answer questions as needed.
working environmentWork is performed in the test lab of an industrial production area for refrigeration and HVAC equipment manufacturers. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but high in some areas—possible stress caused by the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards. Seasonal variations in hours worked based on production demands.

Other Physical Requirements: Sustained use of eyesight for functions such as visual inspection, reading, measuring, and operating hand tools, along with the ability to see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision) to maintain employee safety, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., safety glasses, hearing protection)
