Our client is looking to add multiple Power Test Technicians to their team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting witness tests, assisting Test Engineers, and performing functional testing of UPS modules. Your primary duty will be to ensure that the products meet all specified requirements by conducting physical and functional inspections of electrical components, operating test bays/stations, troubleshooting faulty components, and performing necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop skills to conduct witness tests and assist Test Engineers in conducting witness tests.
- Perform functional testing of UPS modules, including physical and functional inspections of electrical components.
- Operate test bays/stations and associated equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty components.
- Assess product evaluation against NEC and UL/CSA standards.
- Review order write-ups, operate components, and ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure product quality and meet agency approvals.
- Work with Test and Manufacturing Engineers on test equipment development.
- Coordinate the development and modifications of test work instructions.
- Configure and connect system equipment (switchgear, SCCT cabinets, and power ties).
- Perform preliminary inspections and tests.
- Maintain Wiring Qualification and adhere to safe work habits for high voltage equipment.
- Complete a thorough training program or demonstrate equivalent training/experience in the Power Test area.
Required Skills:
- Successful completion of the minimum aptitude test for the Power Test area, demonstrating mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to locate information and learn to read and understand SFA transmittals and drawings.
- Pass a basic AC/DC fundamentals test and a Safety Inventory Test.
- Ability to work with high voltage in the Power Test area.
- Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical circuits (high power), as well as analog and digital electronic circuitry.
- Proficiency in using standard electrical instruments.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to learn and use appropriate software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Regular attendance and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with the operation and functionality of various 3-phase power products, including UPS Single and Multi-modules.
- Ability to test, troubleshoot, and repair high power products, including UPS Single Module Units or Multi Module Units.
