Job Summary:
Ajax Tocco is seeking a Test Technician to test/troubleshoot solid-state power supplies, basic control panels, and heat treating of parts. Functions include high power testing, wire checking control panels, setting up machines for test, and inspecting equipment before shipment. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of control panel & schematics as well as strong problem-solving skills. Automation and panel building experience is a plus. Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics is a benefit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that provides integrated services to meet our clients’ needs both locally and across the globe.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receives test requests and initiates action to perform tests required
- Develops and maintains incoming inspections, calibrations, and component repair procedures and records
- Actively engages in all training programs that encompass all aspects of the test function to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications (this done largely through practice and OJT)
- Coordinates the inspection and test response to schedule requirements as identified at regular production meetings held with Test/Quality supervision and management
- Adheres to work procedures, such as lock-out and tag and arc-flash standards
- Establishes/maintains effective lines of communication and feedback with manufacturing supervisors, engineers, and test personnel to ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that adversely affect quality
- Monitors, maintains, or develops performance reporting systems relative to the effectiveness of the inspection and testing operations and initiate action based upon results
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience as electronic technician for mid-range job or senior level
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of our organization
- Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with various teams as well as independently
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Competent in the use of PLC & HMI programming software
- Professional attitude and the ability to represent our company with integrity
