About Saint Peter's
Saint Peter's is one of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Established in 1872, Saint Peter's University blends a unique learning experience for students shaped by rigorous academics, internships that provide real-world experience, community service, and a caring community that supports the development of the whole student. Serving approximately 3,500 students in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, full-time undergraduate enrollment at Saint Peter's has grown over 20% in the last several years, making it the fastest-growing independent university in New Jersey. Saint Peter's was named first among institutions nationwide as the recipient of the 2018 ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation. For 2019, U.S. News and World Report has ranked Saint Peter's highest for student economic mobility in New Jersey and 17th overall in the Regional Universities North Category.
Saint Peter's main campus is in Jersey City, the second largest and the most diverse city in New Jersey. The student body reflects this diversity, and the University is committed to ensuring that faculty, students and staff members from underrepresented and marginalized populations are an integral part of the life and governance of the institution. The campus is accessible by car or public transportation and is minutes from the Journal Square PATH train (via campus shuttle, city bus, taxi, or walking). This station is a central hub connecting Jersey City with Newark and Hoboken and with New York City, a global center of culture, business, and professional opportunities.
Saint Peter's University is especially interested in recruiting those who can contribute to the university community's desire to increase its diversity and ensure that faculty, students, and staff members from underrepresented and marginalized populations are an integral part of the life and governance of the institution.
