General Job Summary
The Temporary Accounting Clerk is primarily accountable for the entry processing, preparation of reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; filing; other clerical duties. As well as adhering to tax laws and regulatory compliance to properly reflect the financial position of the Bank; provides a high level of customer relations and service; and ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Daily reconciliation of Federal Reserve, FHLB and ULG line of credit with bank accounts.
- Prepare reconcilements as assigned per the Master schedule.
- Input of daily University Lending Group activity.
- Ensure the general ledger is in balance daily for all entities.
- Filing of A/P work.
- Assist in providing of information to internal auditors.
- Assist in providing of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Assist in providing of information to examiners or regulators.
- Assist in compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Attends Accounting team meetings.
- Makes recommendations for potential improvements and department efficiencies.
- Remains current on Accounting Rules and Regulations.
Other Job Functions
- May assist in gathering and reviewing backup documents for the corporate credit program and employee reimbursements.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 1+ years of accounting experience at a financial services or mortgage banking institution highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners.
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
- Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression.
- Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining high degree of accuracy.

- Proficiency with Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP.

Working Environment
This position is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at management's sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk)
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard)
- May be exposed to extended periods of interacting with others (listening, talking, taking notes)
