About Us
Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas: Primary care, Women¿s health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology). Primary Care Clinic is the largest of the clinics at Stamps Health Services and sees approximately 24,000 visits/year.
Job SummaryThe Medical Lab Tech independently analyzes biological specimens integrating instrument operation, maintenance, control/calibration with patient data and test results to provide accurate, reliable, and timely information for preventing, diagnosing, or treating disease. This position will interact on a consistent basis with Asst. Dir- Laboratory and Radiology Services, Providers, staff, and students This position will typically advise and counsel: same as above
Preferred QualificationsTechnical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two years college course work: Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent education that meets personnel requirements for the College of American Pathologists and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments for testing performed
Certifications, Licenses or Permits: MLT (Medical Lab Technician) certification from the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Technician or National Certification Agency
One or more years of job-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesRELATED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: o Familiarity with electronic health records and Laboratory Information System (LIS) software o Demonstrable evidence of working knowledge specific to a college-based laboratory environments preferred o Computer skills include Microsoft Office Suite and email o Must work effectively as a team member in a diverse or multidisciplinary group
