About the Position

As a key member of the Maricopa County family, this position provides Network Operation Center (NOC) services including technical support, designing, installation, maintenance and monitoring of the converged data/voice network.

We Require
  • One year of experience with wide and local area networks including experience with common-carrier data network.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Data Networking, Engineering, or a closely related field
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value
  • Experience utilizing network management tools such as Solar Winds and Cisco Catalyst Center
  • CCNA certification

Job Contributions
  • Assists in the technical support, problem resolution, planning, and managing of the converged data/voice network that includes wired and wireless technologies.
  • Interacts with customers as the primary point of contact for the network operations team.
  • Prioritizes, triages, and assigns tickets that have been routed to the network operations team for resolution.
  • Participates in the Return Material Authorization (RMA) of network equipment.
  • implements automated scripts, workflows, and processes for network configuration, monitoring, and management.
  • Collaborates with network engineers and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and streamline network operations.
  • Monitors network automation systems and tools, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operation of automated processes.
  • Updates automation workflows, procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
  • Participates in network infrastructure projects, providing automation expertise and support as needed.

Working Conditions
This job requires the ability to work nights and weekends along with participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to emergency calls at various locations throughout Maricopa County. This position requires the ability to carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs.; bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, crawling and kneeling to hook up data network lines.
