The Role
- Lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations of team members
- Provide development opportunities for team members by delegating task when relevant
- Keep safety as your #1 priority for each of your team members: adhering to company safety standards and all federal, state and local laws
- Install and/or repair and splice aerial cable tv (CTV) coaxial and fiber cable
- Place, relocate, and remove poles, lines, open wires, drops and block wires to maintain efficient operation of the customer’s facilities
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers
- Direct traffic in accordance with local Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines as necessary
- Work in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, elevated
- Maintain and enforce company, federal and state rules and regulations including non-discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime guidelines, etc.
- Regional travel +/- 75% annually
- Other duties as assigned
- 10+ years of experience in aerial work, coax splicing and/or fiber splicing required
- 3+ years of direct supervisory/leadership experience a plus
- Ability to make decisions and manage day to day operations
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate with staff and clients
- Ability to be flexible and manage changing priorities
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Ability to read and understand mapping
- Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements
- Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
- Ability to safely climb poles with climbing equipment
- Ability to travel daily, open to a variety of schedules, participate in on-call evenings and weekends as needed, throughout all seasons
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities
- Ability to lift and carry 70lbs consistently
- Ability to complete tasks with small components and wires
- Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time
- Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
- Valid driver’s license, Class A CDL a plus
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
