Job Description
- Assist ChiSL program coordinator with recruitment and leading weekly ChiSL meetings.
- Assist CAPS program coordinators with CAPS events, workshops, and alum engagement (open to Young Adult Leaders).
- Assist Youth Center with social media and marketing strategies and content (open to Young Adult Leaders).
- Support staff with front desk duties; answering phone calls, assisting with childcare dismissals.
- Maintaining safeness of all participants and staff.
- Filing and administrative work.
- Assist Group Leaders in implementation of age-appropriate activities for children.
- Assist with care of children and maintenance of classroom space.
- Assist with classroom management.
- Assist in chaperoning field trips.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Responsible, punctual, know how to manage their time appropriately.
- \Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent listening, organizational, and communication skills.
- An interest in helping the community.
- Childcare Assistant must have interest in working with young children in a classroom setting.
- Familiarity with Asian American culture, and a willingness to work in a collective environment with children and teenagers.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.
- Orientation in January 2024
- Program will run from January – May 2024
- Youth Leaders will work up to 10 hours per week and receive a pay rate of $15.00 per hour
- Young Adult Leaders will work up to 15 hours per week and receive a pay rate of $17.00 per hour
