PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates athletic programs and activities provided in sports & fitness leading to the priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy
Lifestyles.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, always promoting safety of members and quality of programs. Provide guidance and role modeling to members and staff.
2. Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
3. Plan and implement sports/fitness programs in accordance with organizational goals.
4. Promote and market programs to members and the community.
5. Submit program schedules and monthly reports to supervisor and evaluate programs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. May assist in other program areas at the Club when needed.
2. Will be responsible for managing junior/ part-time staff members and provide guidance on a day- to-day basis.
3. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive club vans on an as needs basis.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close contact with assigned staff to assist in matters of programming and operations; interacts regularly with Director of Operations and Assistant Executive Director
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools and others.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Associates degree and/or working towards bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Considerable knowledge of; the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls
Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
Knowledge of youth development
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
Ability to deal with the general public
Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
