Core Competencies:
Within Harris Williams IT, The Technology Risk Lead will be an integral member of the HW Security team, focused on key programs and initiatives that enable us to effectively identify and reduce risk to the firm. This role will leverage depth in Technology Risk management to partner across multiple organizations, developing and supporting effective risk solutions that protect our firm, our clients and our ability to remain a market leader.
Core Responsibilities:
Technology risk and compliance management:
  • Lead for all Harris Williams Technology risk and compliance efforts and initiatives, supporting the CIO and Director of Security in successful management of the HW IT risk portfolio.
  • Design, implement, manage and measure consolidated IT Risk and compliance program for all interactions between HW IT / Security and partner teams (meetings, control schedule, KRIs, assessments, etc.). Outline strategic roadmap for HW Technology Risk program (platforms, people, processes).
  • Develop deep familiarity with parent company structure, as a liaison with all lines of defense to organize compliance cycles, execute controls and measure performance towards subsidiary risk management objectives. Continually seek to build productive relationships and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Excel as a Subject Matter Expert around Technology Risk and the proper application of technical and procedural risk principles to enterprise IT environments and practices.
  • Coordinate and lead HW's response for IT assessments and inquiries, prepare agendas and materials, track action items to closure with HW IT, parent company counterparts, auditors and regulators.
  • Evaluate and consult on the risks associated with strategic priorities or major programs and projects, formulating targeted recommendations and guidance.
  • Regularly prepare and deliver comprehensive program updates regarding portfolio prioritization, progress, trends and effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain Technology Risk register and related security and compliance maturity frameworks. Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of Technology Risks across the organization's IT landscape.
  • HW Security contact for ad hoc asks and actions related to HW / PNC interaction.
  • Own and lead the lifecycle for IT policy and procedure inventory management.
  • Manage and mentor junior support staff in execution of scheduled tactical and strategic Technology Risk activities.

Third party risk management:
  • Primary IT owner for ensuring all new and renewing vendors are successfully processed through the HW Compliance vendor risk process.
  • Security lead for internal vendor risk management platform and process enhancements (non-technical). Drive planned upgrade to security assessment functionality.

Requirements:
  • Degree in information systems, business or related experience
  • High degree of professionalism, personal organization, proactivity, curiosity and accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong ability to influence towards logical, efficient outcomes
  • Excellent analytical ability and expertise at bringing order from ambiguity
  • A clear understanding of regulatory requirements, control frameworks, and testing methodologies (FINRA, SOX, NIST CSF, ISO27001/9001, HIPAA)
  • Experience developing an effective control environment related to financial services or technology products and services
  • Relevant professional, compliance and/or security certifications (CISA, CRISC, ITIL, CGEIT, PMP)
  • Passion for technology, operational excellence and a keen focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience
  • Ability to work across matrixed teams to effectively itemize, prioritize and deliver workload
  • 10+ years' experience in designing, implementing and managing enterprise-wide risk programs

Industry Knowledge - Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
IT Architecture - Knowledge of and ability to design and improve organizational IT structures and blueprints in order to better support business operations and efficiently achieve organizational objectives.
IT Standards, Procedures & Policies - Knowledge of and the ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic - Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
