We are seeking a technology reporter, journalist or writer to lead writing for an emerging online magazine targeting startup founders.
The magazine’s mission is to provide founders with approachable and actionable insights through interviews with successful founders and investors, behind the scenes features, and industry reports and trends. We also tell stories that inspire and demystify what it takes to become a successful startup founder–even if you are an outsider to the industry.
What You’ll Do
As the lead writer, your job will be to brainstorm attention-getting ideas and set the agenda for stories, interviews, features, and series. You will research compelling personalities, interview them, and distill your conversations into an approachable and useful format. You will conduct thorough research, work sources, and compile your analysis into compelling industry insights for founders.
Beyond writing, you would ideally also lead the generation of a periodic newsletter that is a compendium of each month's top stories and features.
You will have a great deal of autonomy, room to experiment, and ability to project your vision and put your mark on our magazine.
About You
You will be running the show, so you must be autonomous, able to consistently finish projects, learn quickly, and solve challenges as they arise. You should also be a flexible writer with a knack for multitasking—comfortable with digital publishing and able to work simultaneously on a deep-dive feature and a quick blog post.
A minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred but not required. Reporting or journalistic experience in the technology, entrepreneurship, or business space is highly desired.
