This position serves our partners at Minnesota's largest state agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.
Job Summary
As the Technical Administration Supervisor, you will supervise a team of analysts within the Core Services Unit. Specifically, this may include resolution of technical issues and service outages, as well as enabling new service functionality. You will also assist with consolidation of Service Desk functions, focus on thealignment, integration and standardization of Service Desk methodologies, metrics,and tools as well as ensuring consistency of service delivery to customers and measurably high-levels of customer satisfaction.
Youwill also makerecommendations to senior management on the direction and planning ofnew or evolvingtechnologies and processes. You may also manage projects, define standards for the use of technology, and/or develop processes and procedures to ensure the correct adherence and implementation of agency standards. You will work closely with MNIT management, other supervisors,technical and non-technical staff, other state agencies, and external vendors or companies to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:
  • Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependenciesin Saint Paul, Minnesota.
  • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT Operations and/or IT Service Desk experience.
Experience must include:
  • Experience with end-user facing Incident Management and End User Support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of incident management and request fulfillmentusing aticketing application such asRemedy OnDemand,ServiceNow, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Customer Serviceand Service Management best practices such as ITIL, MOF, COBIT, LEAN, etc.
  • Experience with M365 and Active Directory on / off-boarding and access control
  • Experience with VPN, MFA, Telecommunications, and VoIP, and Mobile Device applications such as Intune, AirWatch, etc.
  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding amongst allparties
  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues

Preferred Qualifications
  • Lead work or supervisory experience in an IT operations environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, management information system, or combination of related fields.
  • Five (5) or moreyears of experience in a Service Desk/IT Help Desk role
  • Ability to support and experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP Server, SQL Server, Exchange 2010/2013, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office 2010/2013
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
