Technician II, Materials and Testing Laboratory

Be part of the Materials Global Business unit. The team is a dynamic and works in close partnership with engineers and scientist, who contribute to growth, qualifications and research and development activities all related to the aerospace and/or automobile industry!
In this role, you will be part of the testing group, generating universal test machines, mainly MTS and Instron, so experience in this area will be advantageous. If you are a team player, meticulous in your activities and safety minded, then this world-class lab is the place for you!
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
- Maintain Syensqo's product evaluation efficiency and accuracy. Provide testing & Evaluation support to internal and external customers.
- Assure all date and inspection plans are accurate in LIMS.
- Participate in LEAN improvements and FOD Reduction activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out. Manage projects and project documentation to an externally auditable level.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in a STEM related discipline is required. Alternatively, 3-5 years of relevant mechanical testing experience will be considered.
- Must possess the ability to read English and comprehend technical writing as can be found in customer specifications and other relevant documentation.
- Must have good math skills and be proficient at operating computers including the use of Google ® or Microsoft ® applications.
- Basic understanding of composite products, the composite industry including resin families, fibers, test methods, and statistics.
- Strong knowledge of composite materials covering a range of matrix & reinforcement technologies.
- Experience with composite panel fabrication, machining, or using universal test machines (MTS, Instron, Zwick, etc.) and data acquisition software (Test Suite, Blue Hill, Test Xpert, etc.)
- Three (3) or more years of experience working in an industrial setting.
- Good listening, communication and presentation skills.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and drive (action-oriented) to succeed and improve upon the status quo.

- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $53-58k. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
