Form of workHansen Talent Group is now hiring a Technical Writer with experience in System Security, CMS engagement, and technical writing. This will be partially on site with a large enterprise in Columbia, SC. Remote will be considered.
What you'll do:
Create and maintain documentation for systems, programming, operations, testing, project management, RFPs, and/or RFIs. Translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences. Provides guidance to less-experienced team members.
- Reviews, critiques, and edits documentation including design documents, RFP/RFI responses, programmer notes, and/or system overviews. Ensures final product is professional in appearance and meets all internal and external requirements.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances a "proposal library" for ensuring continuity of information available to internal proposal teams. Builds processes for ensuring published documentation is kept current.
- Interviews subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances 'best practices documentation for internal and external use. Builds processes for ensuring published documentation is kept current.
- Conducts needs assessments related to technical material development and training. Provides or coordinates special documentation services.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously, independently and with groups.
- Good knowledge of version control management processes.
- Good knowledge of documentation security processes.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to less experienced staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including: management, highly-skilled technical staff, non-technical personnel, and with external clients.
- Technical understanding of the in-place systems to facilitate development of initial and on-going user and technical manuals.
- Broad understanding of corporate products and processes.
Work Experience: 3 years technical writing experience. Work experience includes technical document development design experience. Includes experience in RFP/RFI response projects.
