Who is Honda Logistics?

We provide just-in-time logistics services, primarily for the Honda Motor Company. We are located in East Liberty, Ohio, halfway between Bellefontaine and Marysville. We started our Ohio operations in 1987 with a culture deeply rooted in Honda Philosophy and have grown with U.S. operations in most locations with a Honda manufacturing plant. Honda Logistics North America is the regional parent/hub company for the North American subsidiaries conducting logistics services for the Honda Manufacturing plants. Honda Logistics Inc. owns us with headquarters in Japan.

About this Position:

This role is to analyze/improve/maximize production operations concerning cycle time, yield, process capability, space usage, safety, and ergonomics within an Automotive Material Handling and Logistics environment. The work of this team promotes teamwork across all organizations; develops self-direction and collaborates with others about company goals to facilitate direction. The work is primarily in an office environment but may require you to be in warehouse and manufacturing facilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

• Analyze/Improve/Maximize production operations concerning cycle time (MOST time studies), yield, process capability, space usage, safety, and ergonomics within an Automotive Material Handling and Logistics environment.
• Project Management including preparing scope and estimate documents supporting capital and special projects.
• Accomplish activities of planning, coordination, communication, and connecting activities among the different Operational and Administrative areas, Local and Regional, to ensure continuous improvement and optimal product flow within the production areas.
• Promotes teamwork across all organizations; develops self-direction and collaborates with others about company goals to facilitate direction.
• Designing, justifying, implementing, and validating new system requests and functions.
• Benchmarking other logistic companies' innovation solutions
• Propose, plan, and implement supply chain, material handling innovation solutions
• Evaluate production change points with risk assessments and readiness confirmations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain focus on critical path items

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in industrial, logistics, or other related engineering field with work-related experience or Associate degree in a related Engineering field, or applicable experience will be considered
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
• Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD
• Process Improvement Experience within a manufacturing/ logistics Environment

Preferred

• Warehouse Management System (WMS) & Yard Management System (YMS) experience
• Honda Global Production Control System (GPCS) experience or other production ordering systems
• Knowledge and proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, PQCT, FMEA, Ergonomics, etc.
• Knowledge and proven experience in data analysis utilizing tools such as Python, SQL, or other applicable application
• Ability /proven record of developing customer forward data/analytics packages (Large Data sets on short notice)
• ISO Certification and/or Experience (Quality, Environmental, etc.)
• Six Sigma Certification and/or Experience (Green Belt Preferred)
• 5S Knowledge/Experience
• MOST Knowledge/Experience
• Experience in research development
• Project management experience
• Data Analysis experience utilizing tools such as Python/ SQL

Training Requirements:

• On-going training to continually improve knowledge base and skill set related to advanced technology and industry trend within our primary areas of responsibility
• General safety & ergonomics
• Quality Management System awareness

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility
• Some travel will be required across North American Operations

Work Environment:

• Work will primarily take place in an office environment
• Exposure to warehouse/production environment

Pay: $58,866.00 - $81,104.00 per year
