Position: Technical Services Engineer

Location: USA | Hoffman Estates, Illinois OR Bethlehem, Pennsylvania


 


Job Summary:  

The Technical Services Engineer is a product management professional that facilitates business growth through technical support assistance, customer training, and product commercialization.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical product support and application assistance to company sales force and customers for all Environmental Lining Systems and the Liquid Boot vapor intrusion product line.
  • Facilitate product management coordination with manufacturing, marketing, EHS, customer service, R&D, finance, and global supply chain.
  • Conduct Approved Applicator training for the Liquid Boot vapor intrusion product line.
  • Manage Product testing, certifications, and approvals for industry standards and regulations

 

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Author technical documents to support marketing/sales efforts: Product literature, Technical References, Technical Data Sheets, and white papers
  • Company Participant with applicable industry associations: ASTM, ASCE, GSA

 

OE/Lean Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Safety Training at Applicator Training Sessions
  • Lead Kaizen events focused on new product commercialization and services
  • Drive Safety Performance per MTI policy including risk assessments, standard work, training, near miss reporting etc.
  • Assist with root cause analysis on quality issues

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or other relevant technical degree

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of geotechnical analysis/design and/or remediation technologies
  • Excellent writing and verbal, communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs

 

Travel: 15-20% domestic travel anticipated; limited international travel as applicable to support large sales revenue projects. Business travel typically requires one overnight hotel stay per trip.        

 

Working Conditions: Worked is performed in an MTI Office, construction jobsites, and manufacturing facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to have the ability to work in an office environment, using office equipment as needed, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, follow instructions and other oral/written information, compose correspondence in a professional manner, complete paperwork and other documentation accurately, work independently and with others, communicate effectively with all individuals internal and external to the organization, analyze information/situations as needed, be organized and detail-oriented, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a situation, use judgment in decision making and use creativity and negotiation when necessary.

 

Physical Abilities:

Must have the ability to travel by air and auto to manufacturing facilities, attend trade shows, construction job sites, and to conduct training classes. Must have the ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding and wear proper PPE on job sites. Must have the ability to travel with and lift/transport material weighing up to 75 lbs.

 

Work Hours: Position is exempt/staff.  Work is typically performed on the day shift.  However, employee must have ability to work the number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished.
