This position is located at our Corporate Office in Lombard, IL. May consider candidates remotely located in Philadelphia, Boston, Oklahoma or Kansas that live near a major airport as well.
Position Overview
We are searching for a Technical Services Rep to serve as first point of contact and the go-to resource for our casings customers for order escalations and production process concerns. You will provide technical support and consult customers on recommendations for corrective actions while collaborating internally with RD, Sales, and Quality to identify remedies. We are looking for someone who loves to travel, as in this role, you will travel to customer sites to troubleshoot equipment and processes and determine root cause. Your technical expertise, lab and manufacturing experience will give you the right foundation and skillset to be successful. Ideal candidate will have experience writing technical reports, building and expanding customer relationships and has strong follow up skills. This is a fantastic opportunity with a growth path into technical sales.
Expectations
- Provide technical support/assistance to customers using Viskase casings at onsite customer locations.
- Create and provide technical reports.
- Expand Viskase sales by driving and offering new or additional products to customers that meet the customers’ needs.
- Travel to customer sites in the field as needed.
- Troubleshoots and recommends production process improvements.
- Ensures timely follow-up and resolution of customer concerns or complaints.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s preferably in Meat Science, Food Science or Animal Science or related
- Must have at least 5 years technical sales support experience in Meat Processing or food Processing Industry, ideally including casings or food packaging.
- Works well autonomously with little direction.
- Assertive and people-oriented, strong influencer of others
- Articulate with strengths in building relationships.
