Aechelon Technology, Inc. (the "Company") is a leader in real-time computer graphics applications for training, simulation, and entertainment markets and has an open position in the Program Management (PM) team. This position reports to a Senior Program Manager and interacts with the PM team, all other departments in the Company, and our customers.
The Senior and Technical Program Managers work together to manage a portfolio of programs. The Technical Program manager will lend technical expertise in formulating plans, managing subcontractors, and executing programs. On more extensive programs, the Technical Program Manager will manage the technical aspects of the effort while the Senior Program Manager retains overall programmatic responsibility. In this capacity, the Technical Program Manager and the assigned Systems Engineer will be the interface to the customer to lead technical discussions and reviews. The Technical Program Manager will also act in the capacity of a Program Manager on an assigned suite of programs.
The work schedule will be dependent on customer requirements, which may require some evening and weekend work. The primary workplace for this position will be your home office after you complete training.
This position also requires periodic travel away from your home office (up to 50%) to visit customer locations and participate in customer and other meetings at the Company office in South San Francisco, CA.
Position responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Participating in Company meetings to define requirements for program opportunities and discuss the Company's current capabilities and potential path forward
- Reviewing program requirements for suitability and compatibility with the Company's pricing, product capabilities, and services
- Preparing proposals, traceability matrices, and other associated material needed for proposal responses.
- Reviewing subcontract documents for compliance with customer requirements and proposed level of effort
- Acting as primary liaison between the Company and customers on assigned programs and acting as technical liaison on programs where the Senior Program Manager and Technical Program Manager work together to manage more extensive programs
- Communicating regularly with prime contractors regarding program status
- Attending program meetings, including but not limited to PAC, SRR, PDR, CDR, DBWGs, IPTs, etc. Plan and moderate working groups/conferences, which include end-users, Government SMEs, and other Company team members
- Writing and submitting program status reports, integrated master schedules, customer meeting minutes, conference agendas, and other program deliverables
- Preparing and presenting briefings and program information to support program meetings
- Tracking and disposition of discrepancy reports for each program assigned
- Supporting other PM team members with program tasks, responsibilities, etc.
- Coordinating with the Senior Program Manager regularly on program status
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong Project Engineering skills with in-depth knowledge of visual systems and trainer modifications.
- Strong knowledge and experience using System Engineering Practices
- Previous experience working with Company products is highly desired
- Experience working in an MS Windows environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with a diverse set of prime contractor and US DoD customers and managing challenges that arise from customers who are demanding while, in all cases, maintaining a great partnership to deliver the capability requirements of the user
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task [seems like that is what multi-task means...]
- Must have an ability to work independently, be flexible, and be able to prioritize tasks
- Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret clearance
- BS degree in Engineering or related field, with 5-7 years working in a project engineering role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent desired
