Position Overview:
ANSER has an immediate opening for a Technical Editor/Communication Specialist in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development Directorate at Fort Belvoir, VA. The analyst in this role will develop communications and marketing materials as well as provide technical editing and writing support. The position requires the ability to interface with high-level military, government, intelligence, and corporate personnel. Work will be conducted from client site or from contractor site.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate experience as an author and/or editor for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) intended for Director's approval and signature.
- Ability to serve as a Research and Development Directorate focal point for matters related to written media, communications services and products, and web presence.
- Demonstrated experience with managing adherence to a style guide for all branding and messaging. Ability to lead revision and updates to the Directorate's style guide.
- Able to develop and revise editorial/communications standard operating procedures.
- Flexible and able to support additional activities requiring the above skills for related efforts, such as preparing the newsletter, developing workshop and training materials.
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree plus 3-5 years of experience or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
- Expert with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility, readiness to help in new areas.
- Strong organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):
- Familiar with the role of the R&D Directorate within the DoD acquisition lifecycle framework and the technology transition process.
- Familiar with military operations in CBRN environments.
- Experience with CATMS or other tasker management system.
