Job Overview
The position of Technical Coordinator in the Food & Agriculture division involves working directly with EFI, SMETA, and other programs on an as needed basis.
The primary responsibilities of the Technical Coordinator include managing administrative tasks related to communications with clients, audit project coordination and review of audit reports and corrective action plans and other audit-related documents. The Technical Coordinator is also responsible for documentation and some of its review of all the above-mentioned activities on an ongoing basis in the SCS database and support in document and procedure development. This position reports to the Program Manager and supports the Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communications
- Manage daily email and telephone/Skype/Microsoft Teams communications in English and Spanish with:
- Auditors
- Clients and accreditation organizations
- Verification Organizations and Scheme Owners
- SCS program personnel and contractors
Audit Coordination and Planning
- Ensure consistent flow of audit projects, support and field observation.
- Track and manage audit project milestones and deadlines
- Perform certification review and decision for Food & Agriculture Sustainability Certification programs (including SG, Veriflora, Fair Trade USA, EFI, SMETA, UTZ, and new programs as developed)
- Manage auditor schedules, workloads and travel budgets
- Plan audits and trip itineraries for Sustainability staff and auditors
- Carry out travel booking and logistical arrangements, as needed
Operations
- Conduct quality and technical review of audit reports completed by staff auditors and regionally based auditors in English and Spanish.
- Conduct post-audit review of corrective action plans
- Apply professional judgement on the quality of audit reports
- Ensure program compliance with SCS quality system
- Maintain new, existing, and archived program files in accordance with program requirements
- Support Associates and Managers to develop program guidance updates, audit reports, and letters as needed
- Support Associates and Managers to develop training programs and related materials for third-party auditing organizations
- Support organizations and clients when facing technical issues
- Research third-party auditing initiatives and responsible sourcing programs and prepare summary reports in support of Sustainability staff
- Additional tasks as requested by the Director and Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Outlook, and database management systems preferred
- Experience with third party auditing, certification systems, agricultural operations, ISO 9001:2008 quality systems, or other applicable industry standards and/or knowledge

Working Remotely

Estimated Annual Salary
$50,918.00-$60,285.76
