The Select Group is looking for Technical Consulting Engineers for one of our top clients. Technical Consulting Engineers should have experience troubleshooting an environment that they did not design. This role is 100% reactive troubleshooting, meaning reacting to issues as they arise. Candidates must have customer-facing experience in a large-enterprise environment.
We are looking for engineers with troubleshooting expertise in one of the following areas:
- Cisco Routing and Switching (Catalyst and Nexus lines, WAN, LAN, IOS XR, ASR)
- Cisco Security (Firewall, Firepower, ISE, ACI)
- Cisco Wireless (SD WAN, WLC, WAP, Wireshark, 802.11, Prime)
- Cisco Datacenter (UCS Servers).
Must Have Skills:
- Ability to work from 4 pm to midnight EST.
- Troubleshooting Expertise in one of the following below:
- Cisco R/S Technologies: Cisco Route/Switch CCNP-CCIE equivalent expertise troubleshooting/supporting: routing/switching protocols on Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/IOS-XR/Catalyst devices and/or Network Convergence System (NCS)
- Cisco Security: expertise troubleshooting/supporting: FirePower and/or firewall ASA, OR ISE OR Stealthwatch
- Cisco Datacenter– troubleshooting UCS severs (C and B series), expertise troubleshooting/supporting: UCS servers C/B series
- Cisco Wireless: troubleshooting/supporting/ debugging: Cisco Wireless devices, specifically SD WAN, Troubleshooting Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Access Points (AP), Troubleshooting Authentication/Encryption Protocols, Knowledge of 802.11 standards, Experience with packet captures tools (Wireshark)
- Extensive reactive troubleshooting experience
- Must have experience supporting external customers
- Resolution leader, problem-solving – troubleshooting methodology
- A team player focused on customer success
- CCNP in respective technology
Day to Day:
- Provides Tier 3 technical support at security classification to the Federal and SLED customer base via phone, email, web, and remote access to customers, partners, account teams, and other engineers to independently troubleshoot & debug product problems.
