- JOB SUMMARY
- The Technical Assistant provides technical assistance and support to the Imaging Services staff as needed, including but not limited to, transporting patients of all age levels, critical and physical limitations to and from various locations throughout the hospital and cleaning/stocking department. This individual assists technologists with portable exams, care for the patients, moving patients to and from examination tables, and assists in the performance of examinations in Imaging Services. This individual also has the duties of the clerk/typist such as RIS system entries, retrieving past visits and x-ray reports. This individual plays a critical role by accurately and efficiently maintaining all of Imaging Services patient records.
- EDUCATION
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer individual who is a graduate of a formal Technical Assistant, Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Program.

- EXPERIENCE
- Previous work experience in an Imaging environment preferred.
- Any medical terminology, computer, and/or clerical experience would be beneficial.
- CERTIFICATION

- COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS
- Basic keyboarding experience required.
- Experience with the hospital’s information system would be beneficial.
- JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess good verbal/written communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate basic technical and medical information with patients in a way that is understandable despite the patient’s educational background, age, medical condition, etc.
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
