Position: Technical Assistant- EI
Location: Lansing Tech HS
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Posting Timeline: October 30th- Until Filled
Work Schedule: 7 hours a day Monday- Friday
Salary: Per appropriate placement on the LEA Hourly Scale (Starting at $16.86)
Bargaining Unit: LEA

We're hiring for: In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Student Support Assistant for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Everett HS. This position provides essential support to Special Education teachers, focused on providing services to much deserving individual students.

• Required:
• One of the following (not all!):
• An Associate's degree
• Proof of passing the WorkKeys Assessment in reading, writing, and math
• Proof of passing the ETS Parapro Assessment
• Proof of completion of 60 credit hours
• Commitment to Lansing School District's mission and vision
• Recommended:
• A track record of success working with students with special education needs (especially ASD students)
• A track record of perfect attendance and punctuality
• Previous training in CPI, blood borne diseases, Epi-pen and Diastat
• Previous experience working with students from diverse backgrounds that are different from your own

You will:

• Assist ASD designated students with daily tasks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable school day,
• Actively assist teachers at Everett HS with facilitating and maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment
• To maintin a safe enviorment staff members must be alert at all times
• Log updates in the student data system
• Other tasks as needed to ensure the safety of students at Everett HS
