IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Team Lead, Underwriting Support that can report to one of the following IAT locations:
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Rolling Meadows, Illinois
- Kansas City, Missouri
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Newark, New Jersey
The Team Lead role will provide day-to-day oversight for a team of Management Liability Account Managers in addition to performing Account Manager duties. From time to time the role analyzes reports and workflows for proposing actions to improve productivity, customer service, and decrease costs.
Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Help team members apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where the staff is motivated to do their best.
- Provide subject matter expertise on process and procedures.
- Support assigned underwriters with policy transactions.
- Direct staff on policy issues and inquiries.
- Cross-train staff on all transactions
- Provide leadership and oversight of a staff of 4-9 resources.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching conversations, team meetings, and individual one on one sessions with staff.
- Complete assigned Management Liability Account Manager duties.
- Allocate resources to the work based on priority and volumes to ensure service levels are achieved.
- Maintain and update procedures, workflows and training materials.
- Recommend changes to the process to improve efficiency.
- Escalate system or process issues that are impacting performance.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Must have:
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent
- Equivalent is defined as relevant 4 years of relevant experience.
- 3 years of account management experience
- 2 years of supervisory or related leadership experience. Relevant IAT experience can be considered in lieu of leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
- Knowledge of P&C business practices and workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to cultivate and develop relationships upstream and downstream with customers and business partners.
- To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
Preferred to have:
- Management Liability experience
