- Shift: 3:55am to 4:05pm Friday - Sunday
The position of Team Lead supports the Operational Team in ensuring the line run efficiently and with high safety & quality standards; leading change for business support & lean transformation in alignment with company focus; coaching (individuals & team) and teaching waste (non- value added) elimination and executes projects using all or any tools established. This may include focus of support functions, mechanical issues, set-up, quality and personnel.
Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Promote safety first culture that fosters an injury free workplace
- Assist in monitoring value stream activities in accordance with policies & procedures.
- Participate in setting the daily attainment, prior to shift start up
- Help perform physical audits of the production work performed, monitoring against productivity & quality standards, informing the Manager of all issues/concerns
- Help ensure quality for both internal & external customers are efficient and defect-free
- Communicate, investigate and correct any product quality exceptions and issues.
- Lead Daily Tool Box Talks according to standard work established
- As needed, facilitate training; bring opportunities to Management
- Ensure good housekeeping throughout shift
- Initiating and following Lean practices
- Assist in measuring and monitoring area performance utilizing PLZ specific metrics.
- Promote a positive & productive team environment- lead by example.
- Focus on maintaining scheduling requirements, communicating issues in a timely manner
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the shift
- Develop systems and processes to sustain PLZ improvement activity. This will include coaching, teaching, mentoring and utilizing problem solving approach across the line(s)/Teams
- Participate in value stream gemba walks
- Able to lead/facilitate Kaizen events
- Assist Manager in ensuring preventative maintenance activities are complete and promotion of continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
- Provide performance feedback of team members to managers
- Provide weekly SQI summary to management
- Visually inspect the product for quality, including but not limited to, the product label, appearance, correct components (cap) and cleanliness, etc.
- Adherence to all safety protocols
- Must have good hand / eye coordination
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel / squat and bend for a minimum of 8 hours.
