YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESJob Summary:
The primaryduty of the Team Lead, Network Operations, Americas is to oversee ateam of network administrators responsible for the daily support operations,troubleshooting, and maintenance of all network technologies across LatinAmerica and North America.
Theideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration andleadership experience to guide and develop a team of talented professionals. Theexpectation of this role is to ensure that the team follows standard operatingprocedures and ITIL best practices to ensure service levels are maintained.
The roleof TeamLead, Network Operations, Americas will report to the Senior Manager - Global NetworksOperations.
Job Description:
- Manage and lead a team of network administrators responsible for network infrastructure across a large geographic region.
- Coordinate with other teams, such as security and application support, to ensure that Network Operations are meeting business needs.
- Develop and implement network maintenance schedules to ensure optimal network performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Implement network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.
- Implement network monitoring tools to proactively identify and prevent issues before they occur.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the smooth operation of the network.
- Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on technical and non-technical issues.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and open communication.
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network administration, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of technical professionals.
Additional Requirements:
- Chemical Industry Experience a plus
- Strong technical background and understanding of ITIL concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP are desirable.
