Job Description
TeachStart (www.teachstart.org) is an innovative pathway to teaching. Our belief is that every aspiring educator deserves a pathway to teaching that is affordable and that prepares them for classroom success. Unfortunately, too many aspiring teachers - especially teachers of color - are blocked by our current system.
That’s where we come in. TeachStart hires aspiring educators as full-time substitutes, providing best-in-class training and a debt-free credential. Two years in, we’ve recruited over 250 educators (making us one of CA’s largest teacher pipelines). Our educators are diverse: 70% identify as people of color and 50% are first generation college students. Our model can open the doors to teaching for the educator population that students need most.
We’re a growing start-up, and looking for flexible, creative, entrepreneurial leaders to join our team.
